Narrative Exposure Therapy

Narrative Exposure Therapy

Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) is a treatment for someone who has experienced multiple or complex traumas. NET is a culturally sensitive treatment that takes into account trauma due to marginalization or oppression. Together we will create a timeline of your life honoring significant experiences, both positive or negative, and work together to create the story of your life’s rich history. NET traditionally uses writing to reflect on significant experiences, but art, poetry, music or even dance can also be incorporated. Those who engage in NET often find that they see they are more than their trauma, and learn to have more compassion for themselves and all they have survived. This is an empowering treatment that allows you to take control of your story, and to heal from past traumas.
